Zebra Finch section members of the South Western Zebra Finch
Club braved the distance and heat to attend the Cage Birds show held as part of
Camborne Agricultural Show in Cornwall on 16th July. One member attended
from Wales and one each from Exeter, Paignton and Plymouth with one Junior
Member from the county itself.
Best Zebra Finch In Show, Best Champion, Champion Adult and
Breeder was awarded to Huw Davies (Wales) with both his Fawn birds
making quite an impact and securing the best of colour award for Fawn.
Following on from there Gareth Hollings from the Paignton area of Devon
took the Best Novice and Novice Breeder with a brilliant pair of Normal which
also took the Normal colour award. Best Novice Adult award went to Andy
Nethercott with a mixed pair of adult and breeder CFW and subsequently the
colour award. Peter Cannan took best of colour for his Pied and White.
Junior member Layla Bowyer won the Best Junior Zebra Finch Adult with
her Fawn pair. Congratulations to those winners and thank you to Derrick Bates
and his team for running the event. Well done everyone.
