Members of the South Western Zebra Finch Club exhibiting at Camborne Show Society’s Agricultural show.
4 members of the Western Counties Zebra Finch Club exhibited
their birds at Camborne ASS that included an All Cage Bird show run by Derrick
Bates and his team of helpers under canvas. With rather a soggy start to
the day weather wise, but it dried up a little in the afternoon.
Champion Exhibitor and ZFS panel Judge Adrian Wills
was the Zebra Finch judge but also exhibited his Bengalese Finches.
In the Zebra Finch section:
Champion Peter Cannan of the Cannan & Paintain
Partnership exhibited their Zebras and judged the Bengalese classes.
Show organiser and Novice exhibitor Derrick Bates
exhibited both Zebras and Bengalese,
Publicity Officer for the SWZFC & Novice exhibitor Andy
Nethercott exhibited his zebras.
There were 34 Zebra Finch exhibits benched with Cannan &
Paintain partnership taking the top spot of ‘Best in Show’ with a beautiful
pair of Adult Pied which also took Best Champion Zebras and Best Champion Adult
on their way to the top.
Best Champion Breeder zebras placing was also taken by the
same partnership with another pair of Pied. With the partnership also scooping
the ‘Best Of Colour’ Awards for Pied, White, Fawn and Dilute (Cream).
In the Novice section, Andy Nethercott’s CFW Breeders
took the ‘Best Novice’ and Best Novice Breeder awards also the Best of Colour
for CFW. His CFW adult pair was awarded the Best Novice Adult and a pair of
Breeder Normal were awarded Best of Colour.
In the Bengales section:
Champion Adrian Wills took the Top spot of ‘Best In
Show’ with a pair of Breeder Bengales which also won the champion Best Breeder
award. His adult pair also took the award for Best Champion Adult.
The Novice section was won by the S&L Rochester
partnership.
